Lebron has been a candidate for the greatest NBA player of all-time, for quite some time now. It has been controversial but legitimate arguments can be made for both sides.
The NBA's lockdown has potentially taken a ring away from Lebron as the Lakers were very much in the title hunt. Lebron has to feel like this is the worst timing ever for a lockdown. Lebron's age makes every season a must especially after he already had to sit out most of last season.
Some people may feel as though the Lakers will come back next season and pick up where they left off but nothing is guaranteed. They may not be as healthy are they now, other teams maybe just a little bit better next season. This was definitely more of a blow to Lebron more than any other player in the league.
I normally agree with Lebron on most topics but Lebron is wrong on this one. He a paid athlete that is obligated to pay for the L.A Lakers. His political views and thoughts on the coronavirus aside, Lebron contractually obligated to play ball. I defended Lebron when FOX News host Laura Ingram told him to shut up and dribble but this time he is so wrong and he also sets a bad example for his teammates.
If the coronavirus causes the team to have to play in an empty arena then so be it. Crowd or no crowd, the game goes on. Keep in mind some people still want to watch the games at home. The NBA makes a lot of money from advertisements. A big chunk of that paycheck that Lebron receives is made possible because of advertisement money. So I feel like if he doesn’t want to play than the owners should not have to pay.
Colts fans have become the biggest jackasses in all of sports. Andrew Luck being booed off of the field for retiring was not only disrespectful but it shows how stupid people are in 2019. To make matters worse, there are people online that are actually justifying the booing and saying it just shows how passionate the fans are about their team. No, what it shows is these people don't give a damn about Andrew Luck the person, they only care about winning a f*cking football game. I say to every single Colts fan that booed Luck as he was walking off the field, go f*ck yourselves! You deserve it.
Dwight Howard has signed with the Lakers again and NBA fans have not been too kind to him or the Lakers. The memes and sarcastic tweets have been nonstop. The ironic thing is Dwight Howard and the Lakers have mirrored one another over the past few years, they both have been a hot steamy pile shit. It's only right that they marry again.
Dwight Howard is a has-been who continues to live off his past success and the Lakers are a failing franchise that only remains relevant because of their past championships. If it was not for the Lakers prestige, they would not be mentioned as often as they are. As for Howard, I can not remember the last time he did anything memorable. Yet, both the Lakers and Howard are on the front pages of every sports site. It's a tragedy and it's entertaining as hell.
Finally, the XFL has released their team names! XFL fans have been waiting months to get the names of their favorite teams and now they are here.
Okay, let's rank the names. First, off the absolute worse name of them all is the LA Wildcats. Why the hell would you name a team in LA, the Wildcats? There is nothing about LA that screams Wildcats. I almost like the XFL just got lazy or even ran out of names and just said all screw it, call them the Wildcats. Final grade on team name is an F.
The second worse team name is the Tampa Bay Vipers. I just don't get it. I feel they could have been a little more creative.
There is nothing terribly wrong with the team name Vipers but I feel they could have named the team after something more related to the State of Florida.
Final grade on the team name is a C-.
The DC Defenders is one that a lot of people have crapped on but I have to admit the name kind of makes sense.
DC being the Nations Capitol and by Washington representing the great military power of the United States, Defenders actually fits. This is a name people will probably learn to like as time goes on. Final grade on the name is a B.
Dallas Renegades is one I like very much. Hell, it's Texas. Texas is supposed to be badass. Not much to say about it but it's a great name that compliments the city of Dallas. Final grade on the team name is an A.
St. Louis Battle Hawks is so good and so on point. Battle Hawks sounds good and it is perfect in the sense that it says we are warriors but it is not too over the top.
Final grade on the team name is an A.
Seattle Dragons is kind of lame for a team name. It falls into that lazy creator category. Dragons is a name that is often used by minor leagues and creat-a-teams in video games. It's not the worst but definitely could have been something more appealing. Final grade on the team name is a D.
Houston Roughknecks is decent. I like that the name is not generic like the Dragons is. I get the concept of Texas being a tough guy state. All in all it is creative and feels legit at the same time.
Final grade on the team name is a C.
Last, it's the NY Guardians. I thought the name was stupid at first and then I had time to think about it. New York is Gotham City and New York is where a lot of superheroes stories are based. The XFL's trailer for the Guardians is what really sold me on the name.
Final on the team name is a B+.
Eli Manning responds to Odell Beckham claiming that Eli Manning, held him back.
When asked about Odell’s negative comments about him Eli just simply said,
“I think I’ve won a few games.”
Odell is signed to the Browns but still feels the need to talk about his time with the Giants. I think he is making a big mistake by staying focused on the Giants and not concentrating on becoming a better player. His diva-like persona is gonna cause him to waste his talents and his career.
Skip Bayless, called Odell the NFL’s new Terrell Owens and it we all know how T.O hindered his career by being a menace to his teammates. Sadly, Odell is traveling on the same path as Owens and not on the path of man he said he wanted to be better than, Jerry Rice.
This may be one of those no brainers for most baseball fans but a great debate for others. Does Barry Bonds belong in the Baseball Hall Of Fame? Perhaps the question is do his records mean anything to you? If you believe his records should count regardless of the steroids accusations then yes, he most definitely belongs in the greatest Hall Of Fame in all of sports. But if you think he cheated and he deserves to be wiped off of the record books then you will say no way in hell.
Recently Fan Duel sent a tweet with a poll asking fans if Barry Bonds belongs in the Hall Of Fame. The poll suggests that you should retweet if your answer is yes and like the tweet if the answer is no. With about 753 votes in so far, it is too early to know what the final result will be. Judging by the early numbers, it seems as if the majority of baseball fans that voted in this poll are in favor of seeing Barry Bonds inducted into the Baseball Hall Of Fame.
When I last checked the numbers, it was 479 people that voted yes and 274 voted no. I may do an update on this later on in the week.
The trash talk between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao has heated up and has caused sports analysts to think that there is a possible rematch on the way. After Pacquiao defeated Keith Thurman in convincing fashion, it seems as if Pacquiao could be back to his dominant self again. Mayweather at 42, is retired and has no reason to come back into the ring to fight again. There are, however, questions about Mayweather's spending habits. Some sports insiders are suggesting that maybe Mayweather might actually need the big payday that certainly comes from a super fight such as rematch between him and Pacquiao.
I have complained for the longest time that the NBA sucks due to the super teams that have taken out the excitement of the playoffs. The Warriors run was so dominant that I did not care to watch the playoffs. KD on a team that already won a championship and 73 games without him was just too much.
Now with KD in Brooklyn, Lebron with Lakers, Khawi & George with the Clippers and Harden with Westbrook in Houston the NBA feels balanced again. We don't know who will win the championship before the season even starts like we did the past few years. This is a formula for success. Competitiveness makes me as a fan, more interested in the league.
I hope to not see any more teams formed like what the Warriors had with KD.
The NFL's ratings have been down as of late and it is mainly because the Patriots win too much. Even though a lot of people don't want to admit it but the Patriots have almost made the NFL unwatchable.
It's like watching the same movie over and over again when you already know how the movie ends. Brady comes back and wins the game with 2 minutes left on the clock. The NBA has a situation that makes it possible to be more entertaining than the NFL is.
Andy Ruiz says the rematch against Anthony Joshua will be in NY, Las Vegas or at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. In other words, Ruiz is not going to fight him in the UK. Some boxing fans have said that since Joshua fought him in New York the first time, Ruiz should fight him in the UK for the rematch but Ruiz has made his own demands for the rematch and rightfully so.
