I have been saying this for years now. Eli is not the Eli that won the 2 Super Bowls against New England. Eli has been inconsistent and has lacked the ability to adjust or lead his team to a playoff victory since 2012. He has ranked in the bottom of the league as far as interceptions are concerned. To be honest, the best thing that Eli has done since 2012 is stay healthy.
Even as Giants fan, I can not disagree with this ranking. Eli 2nd worst and one of the highest paid.
As far as I'm concerned they have nothing to lose at this point. There is no need in being conservative now. The Redskins have already let go of Kurt Cousins and so why not bring in a receiver that can compliment Alex Smith ?
The Redskins can get Dez Bryant for cheap now and you never know, he may actually be ready to play with chip on his shoulders and wat better team to grab him, than the Redskins who have storied history, better yet at rivalry with the Cowboys?
Imagine Dez Bryant in burgundy and gold. I believe he would light the Cowboys up every chance he got.
The Redskins don't have anybody on that team at the receiver position that can get the ball the way Bryant can.
This is their chance to grab a star wide out at a reasonable price and even if it doesn't work out so good for them, he won't cost them anything.
It's almost a no-brainer. I'm surprised more people in DC have not brought up Dez Bryant's name since he was released from Dallas.
In my opinion, AJ Styles has been a great champion. This being his second Title reign in just the 3 years that he has been in the WWE. Even though he is crowd favorite, it is time for him to drop the title. Who better to drop the title to than Samoa Joe. Think about it, Joe is a legit bad ass and is physically more intimidating than Styles. If AJ drops the title to Joe, it will not hurt his status what's so ever. Nobody will look at Styles as being weak because he dropped the belt Joe. It's the perfect opportunity at Summer Slam to build a nice rivalry between these two. In fact, it is almost a no brainer.
So prediction is that at Summer Slam Samoa Joe will walk out with the title.
Of course this is WWE, so anything is possible. They could have Styles beat Joe and turn around and lose to James Ellesworth. Wait, that already happened
So after Heyman left everyone wondering what he meant when he said "Unless" during his interview with Renee Young, it was assumed by many fans that Heyman may just be getting ready to turn on Lesnar and make Roman Reigns his new client.
\nOn Raw Heyman made an offer to Reigns on piece of paper. Reigns appeared to turn down his offer. It was then that Heyman pepper sprayed Reigns, blinding him.
\nThen we heard Lesnars music echo through the arena.
\nLesnar beat the dog piss out of Reigns to the delight of most of the audience that screamed one more time after Lenar hit Reigns with F5.
\nStill this maybe a setup for the swurve at SummerSlam.
\nI believe Heyman will turn on Brock in favor of Reigns.
So the Browns have not yet put Baker Mayfield at the number one QB spot.
Instead they are going to start Tyrod Taylor, the former Buffalo Bills QB.
I can understand the concern of the Browns Head Coach wanting to keep Mayfield on bench so he can learn to play the position on an NFL level.
However, I do believe the Browns are over thinking this one. Baker Mayfield should definitely be the starter. Tyod Taylor is a back up at best, he will not bring the Browns up to where they need to be. There is no need in even having Taylor as the start at all when you think about it.
The Browns drafted Mayfield to be their franchise QB. Nothing good will come out of having Tyrod Taylor starting, in fact, the Browns are risking a QB controversy.
What if Taylor plays decent enough to have the Browns in contention ?
At what point do you actually say to Taylor have a seat, Mayfield is our starter now?
I say you start Mayfield now. Let Mayfield get a feel for the NFL. Let Taylor know he is the back up and there won't be any confusion and no controversy later.
Saquon Barkley left practice with a wrap around his left leg.
Barkley stretched out to make a tough catch and appeared to pull his hamstring after landing awkwardly.
Eventually, Barkley did take the wrap off of his leg and walked off slowly on his own power.
When I first read this I almost lost it. This sounds so horrible. I'm happy to hear he is ok. This is was the nightmare that I was fearing as a Giants fan.
Losing, Barkley would just kill the season for the Giants.
I'm sure all Giants fans are breathing a sigh of relief.
“We’ll be smart with him as we move along here,” Shurmur said.
Before signing with the Lakers, LBJ was considered top 2 of all times. Some may even say he is the GOAT. All things considered, he just may be the greatest player to ever step on a basketball court.
The move to L.A may do more harm than good as far as legacy is concerned.
The thing about playing in LA is as long as you a championship, you automatically get a bump up and praised due to the prestige. Winning a title in LA is like winning two titles in any other city.
The spotlight that is always on the Lakers will shine brightly on their heroes but if you fell it is like you never accomplished anything. Yes, Lakers history is one of prestige and glory but it is because of the history of the Lakers that you must win it all. Lebron will always be compared to Jordan and legacy wise, that in itself is a problem. Now that James has joined the Lakers, he is not only compared to Jordan but he is forever going to be compared to Kobe. We all know there is no winning against Kobe in LA. There is nothing James can do to match Kobe in LA.
If James doesn't bring a championship to LA, he will look weak in the eyes of many NBA fans. It won't destroy him but it will give people the impression that not only is he not on Jordan's level but he is not on Kobe's level either.
Just something to think about.
Terrell Owens has been one of the most controversial figures in all of sports. He has run his mouth both on and off the field and has thrown his past QB's under the bus with regularity. With all of that being said, Owens is a Hall of Famer. Not a second ballad Hall of Famer but a freakin first ballad Hall of Famer. So yes, I agree with T.O for not attending the Hall of Fame ceremony. To put Owens in as second ballad Hall of Famer, is absolutely ridiculous and it is the ultimate slap in the face for Owens. Although many sports writers and sports talks show hosts have criticized Owens for not attending, I completely applaud him for it.
He does not need to attend the ceremony, knowing that this is how the voting committee feels about him. Owens has kept it real through his whole career and he is still keeping it real. There is no need in being fake now, no need in kissing anybody's ass now, he has already been giving the middle finger by the Hall of Fame selection committee. He might as well give them the finger back.
OMG ! I am about to lose my mind ! Did I actually hear the crowd chant we want Roman on Monday Night RAW ?
No way in hell, right ? Wrong.
It actually happened. The WWE has been trying since 2015, to get Roman chants, cheers and not boos.
It happened, damnit, it happened. The question is, why did it happen ?
Is it because Monday Night RAW was in Miami and Reigns sucked up to the crowd earlier that night ?
Was it because WWE succeeded in finally giving Reigns an opponent that wrestling fans hate even more than they hate Roman ?
Or maybe the conspiracy theorists are correct and WWE is paying people to sit in the crowd and cheer for Reigns.
Actually it could be all three of those reasons. But who cares, Roman was cheered for once. Soak it in man. I know the haters wanted to vomit. So for that reason alone I am happy.
Looking online I see a lot of people saying, they don't care who wins the Universal championship off of Lesnar, just get it off of him. This was all apart of WWE's plan. Believe it or not, in a strange way, their plan is actually working.
Bryce Harper is possibly on his way out of Washington. He has not played up to his normal standards this year and many insiders are speculating whether or not the Nationals are going to resign him.
"I think every year you come in and try to have a good first half as a team, do things you can to help your team win." Said Harper.
"There are two guys beside me who have done a great job of that, and I think we're excited to do it here in D.C."
Harper was seen wearing a t-shirt that says the district. Some have taking that to mean he is staying in Washington. Ironically, Harper is having his worst year ever on the same year the Nationals host the All Star game and the year that his contract expires. The timing is not good. I believe the Nationals will resign him, even with his slight drop off. This season is a fluke and not the norm for Harper. The smart move is to resign him.
